Obituary for Herbert Spencer Ribner

Professor-Emeritus, University of Toronto Institute, for Aerospace Studies passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Devoted husband for 52 years to Lelia (predeceased). Survived in Toronto by daughter Carol and in Andover, MA by son David, his wife Lesley, and grandchildren Simon and Elliott. Survived by sister, Edna Larkin and her children. Herb will be remembered as a warm and generous individual who over his lifetime achieved international standing in the field of aero-acoustics and jet-noise, winning numerous awards and fellowships.
      Friends may call on Friday from 7-9pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St, at Goulding south of Steeles) Funeral service in the Chapel on Saturday May 14,2005, visiting from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Oncology Unit at Sunnybrook and Women?s Health Science Center would be appreciated by the family.
