Obituary for Robert L. "Bobby" Chadderton

Robert L. "Bobby"  Chadderton
Robert “Bobby” Chadderton, 64, Retired Enfield Police Officer Badge #1, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital with his loving and devoted wife of 30 years Karen at his side. Born on September 22, 1948, in Springfield, Ma; he was the son of the late Robert and Arlene (Sorenson) Chadderton and a lifetime resident of the Enfield community. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1966, and continued his education graduating from Northampton Community College; Robert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He began his career at the Enfield Police Department in December 1968, retired in June 2009 and continued on as a consultant until 2011 when he was instrumental in the development of the communication department for the police department. He was a parishioner at Saint Bernard Church and a member of the Crestview Country Club of Agawam, Ma. He was an avid golfer and a longtime Yankee fan. Bobby loved to cruise the world and really loved taking these vacations with his family and friends. He had just returned from a cruise in Europe that his wife Karen will remember forever. Bobby’s family were the most important thing is his life and he adored his wife Karen, his loving children Bernard L. Pierce and his wife Sherry of Lyon, France; Kristen Chadderton Post and her husband Dan of Enfield, and his cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Lillian, Kamryn, Madison, Joshua, and Timothy. He loved having his family surround him during weekly family dinners, holidays, special occasions, and his family vacations at the beach. Bobby will be sorely missed by the countless family and friends who loved him. Bobby’s family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Family and friends will gather at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at 9:00 a.m for a funeral procession to St. Bernard's Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery. Memorial donations in Bobby’s memory may be made to the Robert L. Chadderton Grandchildren’s Education Fund, c/o Webster Bank 50 Freshwater Blvd., Enfield, Ct 06082
