Obituary for William P. Reichardt

William P.  Reichardt
William “Bill” P. Reichardt, age 71, of Dickeyville, MD passed away on February 1, 2013. Bill was the devoted son to the late Peter P. & Susanna M. Reichardt. Born in Baltimore and raised in Howard County as the family moved and opened an Esso Service Station on Baltimore National Pike in the late 1940s.

At a young age, Bill took an interest in electronics and earned a ham radio license as a teenager. Bill served as a member of the National Guard. He graduated from Rets Technical College and went on to a long career at MPT serving as a broadcast engineer. He was also faithful volunteer at his church.

He enjoyed taking his boat out on the Chesapeake Bay, walks through the Gwynns Falls and spending time with his neighbors. He was passionate about his family, his golden retrievers, his woodworking and his faith.

Bill was the loving husband of the late Judith R. (Mailloux), caring father of Peter A. Reichardt and his wife, Kelly of Halethorpe, MD, Rebecca Mary Reichardt of Frederick, MD , Paul A. Reichardt and his wife, Emily of Castro Valley, CA, and Karen Judith Reichardt of Castro Valley, CA, kind brother of Joanne Neubauer of Ellicott City, MD, proud grandfather of Maya, Jackson, Noah Jonah and Whitney.

Friends may call Sunday February 10th from 2-5 p.m. at the Slack Funeral Home, P.A., 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 10 a.m. at St. William of York Catholic Church, 600 Cooks Lane, Baltimore, MD 21229. Interment is at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Sisters of Notre Dame, Atlantic-Midwest Province, Department of Mission Advancement, 345 Belden Hill Road Wilton, CT 06897-3898 or to Bill's Parish, St. William of York.
