My memories of Aunt Shirley are so precious to me. My earliest memory is when I was about 3 yrs old. Mom and Aunt Shirley took all of us girls to Powell Valley Lake. There was a baby pool and I was playing in it. Evidently I breathed in water and was choking. Aunt Shirley grabbed me up and helped me catch my breath. She was so scared and so was I. Another memory is when Aunt Shirley would come home for Christmas. She couldn't afford to buy all of her neices and nephews Christmas gifts , but my Birthday was 5 days after Christmas. Aunt Shirley would take me to Big Stone to the Mutual Pharmacy bargan basement. She would buy me anything I wanted. She bought me a pot holder loom. I made her a couple pot holders to take back home, and she thought they were great. I have more memories too numerous to write here, but my best memory is one from 2012. We were sitting on mom's porch after the family reunion. Aunt Shirley wanted to talk about Heaven. She asked me some questions about death and Heaven. She told me she beleived in God. I can't remember all of our conversation but what I remember the most is she was so focused on my answers and made me feel she really valued my opinion. That is what I remember most about Aunt Shirley, she made you feel important and loved. I will miss her very much but I know we will be together in Heaven for eternity.
