“To everything there is a season; a time to be born”...Ecclesiastes 3:1
On a bright and sunny day in the great city of Fort Worth Texas on February 18th, 1958 to be exact, a precious baby girl was born to Herman & Barbara Green. After a short deliberative thought, they decided to name their precious gift Monica Faye Allen.
“When I was a child”… II Corinthians 13:11
Growing up, Monica excelled in athletics, dancing, and was elected as homecoming queen of Dunbar high school in 1976.
“A time to love’….Ecclesiastes 3:4
In her spare time, she liked to listen to 70’s music, watch movies, and was known to be a cooking enthusiast. Monica was a very passionate woman especially when it came to her family.
She made sure that everyone, including her daughter and sister, had what they needed and knew that they were loved. She held a special spot in her heart for her grandbaby and could always be found imparting her wisdom and spirited advice to help guide people in life. Words that will live forever in their hearts. Monica was a strong woman who inspired others through her kindness and encouraged them to live life to the fullest. She was always there whether you needed an ear to talk to, a shoulder to lean on or a partner to pray with.
“I am now ready to be offered”… II Timothy 4:6
On Wednesday June 15th 2016, Monica heard the master say “well done thy good and faithful servant,” She crossed the finish line of this life, and transitioned from earthly labor to heavenly reward. She was greeted at the pearly gates of heaven by her father Herman Green and other relatives that went on before her.
“I will not leave you comfortless”…St. John 14:13
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her Daughter Bianca Allen, Grand son Blake Rodas, Mother Barbara Green, Sister Michelle Green-Ford, Niece Amanda Ford, Nephew Joshua Ford, and a host of other cousins, family and dear friends.
