Life Story for Lady V. Catherine Casey (Lymon)

Lady V. Catherine Casey (Lymon)
Catherine “Cat” Lymon was born on October 14, 1940 in Hampshire, Tennessee to Tom and Roxie Lymon.

After the family moved to Illinois, Catherine finished her elementary education at Lincoln Memorial and went on to graduate from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, in Blue Island, Illinois.

Catherine started her Christian walk at an early age. Her father, Tom Lymon was the first African-American minister of Robbins Church of Christ.

Catherine married the true love of her life, Ronald Casey, Sr., in 1957. They celebrated, loved and cherished each other as husband and wife for forty-two years.

Catherine was blessed with a bubbly outgoing personality. She was a manager at Colorite Records, but her caring nature was showcased in her job as a Medical Assistant in Dr. McFarland’s office and in her position as a Patient Care Technician at South Suburban Hospital.

Her parents, Tom and Roxie Lymon; husband, Ronald Casey, Sr.; brothers, Tommie and Ronald Lymon; and her son, Phillip Casey all preceded her in death.

Catherine had a zest for life and a foundation built on faith. The joy of her life was her family. She was an extraordinary mother, very well loved by all, She was a true believer in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At 8:42am on November 1st, 2016 Catherine heard the master say "Well done thy good and faithful servant" she received her golden crown, and transitioned from earthly labor to her heavenly reward.

To cherish her memories and celebrate her legacy of love Catherine leaves to cherish her memory: six children, Janet (Cecil), Ronald “Junie” (Krystal), Greg, Cheryl, Keith (Joeann), and Derek (Gwen); fifteen grandchildren, Nina, Ronald Anthony III, Marcus (Marie-Lyne), Aja (Ronald), Nicole, Christopher(Katie), Adam J "A.J", Mary, Greg, Caitlyn, Phillip, Devin, Alexis, Domonique, and Dakari; eleven great-grandchildren, Jabari, Courtney, Marc Anthony, Alise, Ariel, Janiya, Lauryn, Addyson, Jessica, Obadiah and Christopher; three brothers, William Lymon, Carlton Lymon and Denny Moore; two sisters, Darlene Moore and Kimberly Howard; sister-in-law, Lillie Lymon; and a host of family and friends too numerous to name.
