Obituary for Joseph William Esler

Joseph William Esler
Joseph William Esler, 84 of Indian Shores, Florida and Whiting, NJ passed away peacefully on December 1st at his home.
Friends may visit the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Service on Thursday at 10:30 am the funeral home. Burial at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains in the family plot.
Born and raised in Plainfield, he attended Plainfield Schools before spending 4 years in the Navy. He married his wife, Joan on October 11, 1956 and raised his family in Piscataway, NJ. Following his retirement, Joe spent his summers in Whiting and winters in his bayside condominium in Indian Shores, Florida.
Joe worked for 42 years for PSE&G in various positions in the Gas Department, retiring as a Service Supervisor and Gas Liaison. Always active in sports, Joe enjoyed golf, bocce and played softball well into his 70s.
He was the beloved husband of the late Joan Esler (2010) and a devoted father to his son, Bill and his wife Patti, and his daughter Jo Ann. He will be deeply missed by his 4 grandchildren, Kate, Joe, Mike and Candice. Joe was the loving brother of Betty Adkins, brother-in-law of Carol Diehl, and loving uncle to his 3 nieces Diana, Donna and Debbie.
