Obituary for Evelyn Handy

Evelyn  Handy
Evelyn Jo (Hayes) Handy 65, wife of Billy D. Handy of Sparta, passed on Tuesday January 24th at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born on July 25, 1951, in Campton, Ky, she was the daughter of Richard M. Hayes and Jessie Mae (Burks) Stubblefield.
Mrs. Handy attended school in Vandalia, Oh and then served in the Army during the Vietnam War. She later worked in private duty nursing for 15 years before moving to Tennessee where she worked in property management, retail management, and real estate. When she retired, she enjoyed gardening and working on her small farm in Sparta. She was a member of the Popular Grove Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tn.
She will forever be remembered by her husband, Billy D. Handy of Sparta; children: Michelle and her husband Darrell Sells of Monroe; Tiffonie Baker of Songtan, South Korea; Steven Handy and his wife Tasia of McMinnville; Lauren Handy of Camden, Sean Handy of Sparta; siblings: Anna Hayes of Rickman, Bill Hayes of Rickman; grandchildren: Hunter Sells, Rush Handy, Waylon Baker and Ella Raine Handy; 6 nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Richard M. Hayes; mother, Jessie M. (Burks) Stubblefield; granddaughter, Jessica D. Sells and brother, Robert R. Hayes.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Feb 4, 2017 at Popular Grove Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow
