Mauricio D. "Morris"  Lopez
Mauricio “Morris” Lopez, 42, of Andrews passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Mass at 10:00 am Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 201 NE Ave K, in Andrews with Father Michael Rodriguez of Odessa, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Prayer services will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rosary services will be recited at 7:00 PM Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Please celebrate his life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Mauricio was born on December 9, 1974 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico to Lorenzo C. Lopez and Diamantina De Los Rios. He was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School in 1993. Mauricio and Diana Franco have been together since June 20, 1997 and were married March 17, 2000 in Andrews. He had worked for Stewart’s Welding in Andrews from 1993 - 2005. He worked as a pumper for Oxy – Occidental Petroleum in Andrews since 2005. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mauricio had been involved with the AHS Band Boosters, coached travel baseball, coached ACYRC soccer, loved to fish, camp, be outdoors, and loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his entire family, where he was known as the comedian-joker of the family.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Lopez of Andrews, 2 sons, Esteban and Marcus Lopez of Andrews, daughter, Daisy Lopez of Andrews, parents, Lorenzo and Diamantina Lopez of Andrews, 2 brothers, Jaime Lopez and wife, Alejandra, of Andrews and Rudy Lopez and wife, Anna, of Andrews, 2 sisters, Lorena Herrera and husband, Edgar, of Andrews and Esmeralda Martinez and husband, Israel, of Andrews.
