Obituary for Henry Lee "Hank" McGowens

.Mr. Henry Lee “Hank” McGowens, 79, son of the late Eddie Lee and Leatha Mae Blake McGowens, was born on July 30, 1937, in Pickens County and departed this life peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 3, 2017.

He was married to the late Betty Jean Bowens McGowens for fifty-three years and was a lifetime member of the Shoals Creek Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Edward McGowens.

He leaves to cherish his fondest memories, his daughters, Debra Hagood, LeeAnn (William) Deck, Kimberly L. McGowens, all of Easley, Tracy (Ricky) Hicks of Greenville, Christa McGowens Scott and Vivian Scott, both of Easley; four sisters, Betty Jean(George) Grant, Joyce Barksdale, Linda Holloway, and Peggy Bargineer, all of Greenville; brothers, David (Henrietta) McGowens of Easley and Curtis (Queenie) McGowens of Pickens; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
