Charlie D  Hairston
Charlie David Hairston, 93,was called home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2017. He was born March 15, 1923, in Thorpe, West Virginia to the union of Jack and Nannie Hairston.

Charlie joined the Army Air Corps in March, 1943 and served during World War II through December, 1945. His service in New Guinea would later earn him the AsiaticPacific Campaign medal witha bronze service star.

In 1956, he came to Toledo and found employment at Goody’s Truck Parts where he stayed for 30
years until his retirement. He was a deacon for several years at Union Grove Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Arnella Hairston; stepsons, Wiley (Frances) Cox, Willard (Rosemary)
Cox, Sterlin (Angel) Cox, Merlin (Lillie) Cox; sisters-in-law, Ruby (Connie) Bryson, Barbara Billingslea; brother-in-law, Layton (Nancy) Crockett; 12 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren; nieces; nephews, and close friends.
