Condolence: We are so very sorry for your loss and will continue to keep you all lifted in prayer. LeRoy will be missed by all who knew him. LeRoy was always the one I looked forward to seeing at our family reunion. Always a joke or jab for me and a lot of fun. I know your family will miss him deeply.

Condolence From: Georgia Graham Milliren
Condolence: The year was 1958 and I was a freshman at WCHS Div II. Mr Brown was the vice-principal and my mother was the cafeteria manager so I had a unique burden as a teenager to behave myself. That was the beginning of their professional relationship in which he would later honor her by requesting she accompany him to the new Truman HS to be the first cafeteria manager there. Mr. Brown, being the jokester he always was, had a nickname for me whenever he saw me in the halls: Georgia Alabama Graham Bell.
We shared the same birth-date and one of those years found us with our respective families at Mr. Steak when they offered free birthday dinners. His humor was not lost on the occasion as the unsuspecting waitress came over to our table and leaning over, quietly said β€œThe gentleman over there would like to buy the lady's dinner.”
Words fail to express our deep sympathies to his family as we struggle through our own sadness to be thankful for his humor, his leadership, and his profound regard and desired success for every student under his watch.

Condolence From: David and Joan Bland
Condolence: LeRoy's endearing, jovial, Christian personality will forever be etched in our memories. Knowing Carol and LeRoy through Independence Knife and Fork Club, and Independence Retired School Personnel Association, has been our special pleasure. Our Lord and Savior has gained another loving, thoughtful soul in His Kingdom. "Don't weep because LeRoy's gone. Smile because he was here." God's blessings of comfort to precious Carol and each family member. May you experience "the peace of God which passes all understanding." Phil.4:7. Prayerfully, David (WCHS '60)and Joan Bland (WCHS '54)

Condolence: Condolences and prayers to the Brown family. Mr. Brown will always have a place in my heart because he choose to have faith in me and believed in my honesty. He always had a smile and treated me with kindness and respect. As a student at Truman 1978-1980 he was someone I knew could go to for help or advice. Thank you Mr. Brown and may you enjoy life in heaven.

Condolence: On behalf of all the graduates from the class of 1985, we would like Carol and his family to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We loved Mr. Brown back then, we've grown to appreciate his wisdom and guidance ever more each year, and we treasured our time of reunion with you both as you helped us celebrate 30 years of life and love. Certainly, Mr. Brown was a blessing to us in life, and he's experiencing the rewards of Christian service with our Father in Heaven.

Condolence: We love you, Carol. We have been praying for you daily; we'll keep it up!

May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant. Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.
Psalm 119:76-77

Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
Isaiah 49:13

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Condolence: It was my privilege, pleasure and blessing to spend the last 16 years getting to know LeRoy and his family. He always had a smile and a joke no matter the situation. I had the utmost admiration for his strength and commitment to the many organizations he served. He was one of a kind. There will never be anyone like him. I can't even imagine the feeling of loss that the family feels. My heart goes out to Carol, children and grand children. You will all be in my thoughts. Prayers that you will all receive strength and comfort from your memories.
