Obituary for Lucinda Albertha "Ms. Lucy" Lee (Harper)

Lucinda A. Lee, affectingly known as ‘Ms. Lucy’, was born on February 19, 1929, in Farms Village, Montserrat, West Indies. She was born to Sarah Jane Harper and ‘Pampe’ O’Garro. After finishing school, Lucinda decided to leave Montserrat and migrate to London, England in the 1960’s. She found a job, settled down & worked hard to provide for her mother back in Montserrat.

It was later on Lucinda reconnected with James Lee whom she knew previously in Montserrat. James also migrated to England, where he & Lucinda became reacquainted, and later on got married. In 1976 Lucinda, James and their two children moved to the United States & settled in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1977 Lucinda started working at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, in the dietary department, where she later retired from after 18 years of service.

She loved to travel, and was known for baking her famous plate tart, cakes and other pastries. She was a kind & affectionate mother & grandmother that would help whenever she could. After her long battle with dementia, Lucinda’s sunset came February 16, 2017, she will be missed forever.

Lucinda is survived by her husband James J. Lee, her daughter Dionne Lee and two sons. Eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
