Dawson E.  Blount
Mr. Dawson E. Blount, age 90, of Winnsboro, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Ft. Worth. Dawson was born in Pittsburg on August 4, 1926 to the late Dawson and Irene Hart Blount, Sr. He was a retired truck driver for Chemical Leaman of Ft. Worth, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred (Watkins) Blount; and sister, Evelyn True. He is survived by three daughters, Becky Blount of Ft. Worth, Beth Wallace and husband Gary of Hurst, Nancy Blount of Bedford; step-son, John Holder of Winnsboro; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Dustin Wallace. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Beaty Funeral Home of Winnsboro; graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at Hopewell Cemetery in Wood County.
