Dear Joey, Ever since I met you when you came to Chicago, and even though I barely knew you, I felt as if you understood all the anxiety and concerns on my mind when I would happen to meet your kindly gaze. I think it is because you actually see people when you look at them. Through the years, with the other opportunities to meet, you completely won me over with your willingness to meet us at the end of our honeymoon hike and especially to lag behind with me and my swollen knees trailing my husband and his athletic friends back to civilization. Those hours walking out together with you were the bright spots of that mostly miserable day! When I would see you for get-togethers in Boston after that, nothing has changed...You were still the same funny, generous, kind person who walked me out of the woods. I will miss you.
