Obituary for Halina Wierzbowski (Wrobel)

Halina Wierzbowski, 78, of Niskayuna passed away peacefully at home Tuesday March 14, 2017.

Halina was born in Otwock, Poland on May 4, 1938 to the late Jan Wrobel and Alexandra (Wasaznik) Wrobel.

Halina immigrated to the United States in 1965 and became a citizen shortly thereafter.
Halina spent most of her time as a homemaker and raising her children, although she worked briefly as an electronics technician for Millivac Instruments and also Brad Cable Electronics of Schenectady.

Halina enjoyed gardening, cooking, and crafting, especially sewing and macrame. She loved all creatures and nature, occasionally taking in an injured or stray animal that briefly became a family pet. She and her husband, Boleslaw, spent many summer days fishing in the area waterways.
She will be remembered for her smile, captivating green eyes, gentle disposition and agreeable nature even in times of ill-health and adversity.

She is predeceased by her parents, sisters and beloved husband of 48 years, Boleslaw Wierzbowski . She is survived by her daughter, Carolina Wierzbowski and son, Matthew Wierzbowski.

The family would like to thank the many aides, visiting nurses and EMT’s for the care and comforting they provided to Halina over the last several years.

Calling hours are 10 – 11 am Monday March 20, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., Schenectady NY 12309. A private funeral service and interment at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Niskayuna Fire Department District# 2, 2772 Troy-Schenectady Rd. Niskayuna, NY 12309 or the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
