Obituary for William J. Cullen

William J.  Cullen
William Joseph Cullen, 89, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus on March 15, 2017. He was born January 15, 1928, in New York City, New York.

He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in education from John Hopkins University and majored in music at Peabody Conservatory of Music, earning his diploma in piano.

Will proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. On January 2, 1964, Will married his sweetheart Margarith, and later they moved to Boulder, CO, where he became owner and general manager of the Skyland Motel and Apartments. He retired in 1980, due to severe health related issues and became a semi-retired investor.

Will travelled extensively and enjoyed many cruises, particularly with his family. He was a consummate musician and loved all great music. Will had a great passion for life and lived it to the fullest.

He attended First Baptist Church in Longmont where he was an active member and always looked forward to the fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Will was part of many Masonic organizations; he was Past Master of Columbia Lodge #14 in Boulder, as well as an honorary member of St. Vrain Lodge #23 and Lafayette Lodge #91, gaining lifelong membership in all of these lodges. He was a member and Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star. In addition, he was a past member of El Jebel Shrine and 32nd degree member of Colorado Consistory. He was a member of the American Legion Post #32. He was also a member of several other fraternal and philanthropic organizations.

Will is survived by his wife Margarith, of 53 years, his daughters; Kathleen Kelly and Ariana “A.J.” Cullen, two grandchildren; Ryan Cullen and Krista Cullen, whom he was so proud of and loved very much.

A memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 701 Kimbark St., Longmont, CO, 80501. With Masonic Funeral Rites by Colorado Consistory Scottish Rite. Rendering of Military Honors by American Legion Post 32 of Longmont. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
