Obituary for June I Wood
June Wood of Burlington City passed away peacefully into God's loving and eternal care Sunday, March 19, 2017, at home. She was 58.
Born in Riverside, June lived in Burlington all of her life. She retired in 2014, as a lunchroom aide and cafeteria worker and had worked at the Lawrence School, the Boudinet School and finally at Burlington Township High School. June loved working within the school districts with the children and had many friends there also. She enjoyed coloring, puzzles, and doing various craft projects.
Daughter of the late Kenneth and Reba (Cawley) Buffarini; sister of the late Kenneth Buffarini; and wife of the late Oscar 'Buddy' Wood Jr., she is survived by her four children, Keith Buffarini (Kim), Oscar 'Bud' Wood (Aarika), Joseph Wood (Jamie), and Lisa Wood. She also is survived by her siblings, Terrie Cavanaugh (Ken Shaw), Harry Buffarini, and Peggy Courant (Aaron Kamble); and many grandchildren, step children; Wood in-laws; a great-grandchild, Emmelina; nieces and nephews; and a very special lifelong friend, Sharon 'Teddy Bear' Taylor.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at Dennison-McGee Funeral Home, 869 Beverly Road, Burlington. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington. Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 this evening, Wednesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in June's name may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
