Obituary for James T. Moore

James T. Moore
James T. Moore, 39, of Ocean Township passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 26. James was a lifelong resident of Ocean Township and graduated from Ocean Township High School. He was a proud teammate of the high school football team, and spoke fondly of winning the 1993 State Championship. He received his bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey. He was an insurance agent for AFLAC for over 11 years.

James was an avid surfer and was known for chasing waves along the east coast and Puerto Rico. He could always be seen chopping wood in his yard, giving a friendly wave, and keeping people warm with the epic fires he built. His personality was infectious; James could make anyone laugh with a well-timed joke or perfect movie quote. He had a talent for making every single person he met feel special, which gained him popularity in many places including Rook Coffee Roasters, Unique Yoga, Allenhurst Beach Club, and Frank’s Deli. Above all, James’ favorite role was being a dad; he was very involved with his children’s lives and volunteered as a coach for recreational football, baseball and basketball.

James is survived by his wife Kellie (nee Norman) Moore and his two children Braden, 7, and Kylie, 5,all of Oakhurst, his mother Nancy McDonough of Ocean Township, his maternal grandmother Gloria Leach of Oakhurst, his mother and father-in-law Sheri and James Norman of Oakhurst and his brother Sean McDonough of Interlaken. James is also survived by several aunts, uncle, cousins and a host of friends.
