Mr. Brawley was born June 9, 1924 to the late Samuel Stevenson and Blanche Hagler Brawley. He passed away at Mooresville Serenity House on April 1, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Mary Elizabeth Westmoreland Brawley and survived by daughter Brenda Sigmon (Buddy) of Mooresville, son Cam Brawley of Milwaukee, WI, sister, Betty Neel of Mooresville. Grandchildren are Chris Sigmon (Jessica) of Mooresville, Kevin Sigmon (Pamela) of Cornelius. One great grandson Brady Maillet of Cornelius. A longtime sweetheart and girlfriend Jennie Clontz of Troutman. Many loving nieces and nephews.
He was a lifelong member of St. James Episcopal Church, served the US Navy during WWII and Korean War, a longtime member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #496 and owner of Mitch Repair Company until his retirement at age 88. He is remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, charisma, love of family, friends, animals and ability to fix anything.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 4 at Ingram Funeral Home in Mooresville from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Service will be on Wednesday, April 5 at St. James Episcopal Church at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund 851 Shinnville Rd. Mooresville, NC 28115 or Serenity House 110 Centre Church Rd. Mooresville, NC 28117
