The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ted Helms can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Ted was one of the first SPD officers I met when I started my career with TSU PD. He taught me quite a bit during my time there and when I came to the SPD, he continued to be a mentor and advisor. When I was first promoted to sergeant, Ted was there again to guide me through the steep learning curve supervisors go through. He was influential all through my career and I am very grateful for his presence. My sincere condolences to his family and I am blessed to have gotten to know Ted during our careers together with SPD.

Condolence: What a great soul. Met Ted over 20 yrs ago playing golf during the weekly scramble at Tejas. He taught me the "bump and run" when I struggled to hit a flop. My thoughts and prayers are put on the Helms family.
