My husband died in January 2009. The funeral director at that time could not have been more compassionate. He worked with me in conjunction with my Church and spared nothing! I would recommend Serenity Meadows to any family for their needs at such a vulnerable time. I have already prearranged my own funeral with Serenity.

This was my first experience with a funeral home. I was beyond impressed with Serenity Meadows. Most of my dealings were with Jennifer & Ana but every staff member was very kind and courteous. I can hardly find the words to express how pleased I was with their kindness, compassion, and professionalism.
Jennifer handled all the funeral arrangements and was very accommodating and helpful. I was very appreciative of the way Ana handled the cremation process, telling us exactly what to expect. They handled my mother's body with the utmost dignity and respect. I highly recommend them!

Nothing but nice things to say about these folks. Jeanie was so sweet helping us pick plots, and Jennifer handled the arrangements. They were kind, supportive, and helped us keep the expenses fair. I was very worried because it seems to be a business that has some unscrupulous folks. That was not the case here. They were very open and honest, and the facility was great.

Condolences

Condolence From: Greg Boesenberg
Condolence: Yes my condolences to Elsie, Dick Abraham's wife and to her kids, Richard, Jane, Beth. I also send my condolences to Eric and Beth and there kids as this must be an extra hard time for them. I remember Dick and the many rich conversations and how he was a really great listener and a gentle man as well. He was really in the Lord and didn't wear Christianity 'on his sleeve'. He really lived it in his actions and the way he treated everyone and can really remember his great sense of humor. What a great person he was. Lucky to have known him and his wife and his kids were really blessed. I know we'll see him again someday but this time he'll be dressed in white. He wouldn't want us to mourn his passing but rather, celebrate his life! He will be missed, yes, but it is only temporary if we believe in Christ. Glad to have known him. Greg.

Condolence: Dear Elsie, Linda, Lois, Richard and Beth,
Our thoughts and prayers are frequently with you as each one goes through this time of parting. Our family has gathered around you in prayer asking that God's strength and consolation will fill your hearts and minds in a special and wonderful way.

“…and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”
– Isaiah 61:3

With love,
Don and Faith

Condolence: Dear Abrams family... We were saddened to learn of Dick's passing, yet rejoicing with you that he is with his Lord and Savior. Of course, our acquaintance goes back to mid 1962 when we met for the first time in Costa Rica, then on many an occasion in Peru. We were also surprised to learn yesterday that Dick and Elsie have been living in Lithia, FL. Not far from our daughter Heather and family who live in Riverview. We have traveled there many times from our home in DeLand FL. May God's comfort and grace sustain you in these days.

Condolence: I met Dick about 20 years ago, and we quickly became friends since we shared a love of both Peru and stamp collecting. Over the course of his long time residence in Peru representing his church and delivering his evangelical ministry, he was able to travel all over Peru including remote areas where few travel. I got him interested in collecting the postal cancellations of Peru by asking him about the tiny towns. What made it so special is that I would frequently ask him if he knew where a little town was located. Many times, he would get back to me with a fascinating tale of how he trekked by foot, and sometimes mule, just to get there and he would describe the beauty of the land and the people in detail that would bring it to life for me. I was fortunate to get to know Elsie and stayed with them in Oregon one summer when he was living there. He came and stayed with me in Arizona on two occasions. He worked tirelessly helping me sort and identify my unwieldy cancellation collection.

My favorite memory was of Dick happened at philatelic show that was held in Portland several years ago. I remember we walked over to the table of a stamp dealer, Dr. Ameen, and introduced Dick since they didn’t know each other. As luck would have it, Dr. Ameen had just acquired two thick dealer stock books loaded with older Peruvian stamps. It looked like it had been assembled in the 60’s and was bulging with stamps. Dr. Ameen just told us to pick out what we wanted and he would price them afterwards. Dick took one book and I took the other. We sat there for a good two hours, picking out a wonderful assortment of beautiful cancels. As we found special ones, we would show them to each other, glad for our own finds, as well as those of the other. We were whooping it up and making a ruckus and Dr. Ameen just kind of rolled his eyes, wondering how two guys could be having so much fun with stamps that were not especially valuable (catalog-wise). It was a treasure trove for us and a special moment that I will never forget. We left there like a couple of kids that had just eaten everything on the menu at the ice cream parlor; happy and perfectly satisfied. Everything else that transpired at that stamp show was just icing on the cake.

Dick had a wonderful way of making everyone he met feel special. He had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude that was contagious. Above everything else, Dick was a good man. A good friend. I will miss him, as will all who knew him. My prayers are with Dick and his entire family.
