Condolences

Condolence From: Tom Coulby
Condolence: About 30 years ago, I led an effort to have a 4 way stop implemented at Nash and Rundle roads. My young children had to walk to school on the narrow shoulder of a road that people were driving highway speeds on. Clarington Public Works had refused our application and when I made a speech to town council, they wanted to do more studies. Diane Hamre was mayor, and spoke to the council, highly recommending passing our motion, including speaking of her personal experiences with stop signs for slowing traffic flow. We got the 4 way stop, and my children remained safe, thanks to Diane Hamre. I am now also a proud grandfather of 4. Thank you Diane Hamre, for caring about my children's safety! I will always remember you fondly and know how much you will be missed.

Condolence: Diane babysat my firstborn daughter so that I could return to work at Bell Canada. She was a wonderful and caring second Mom to Chrissy and to me. My own Mom lived far away so I really relied on Diane's wisdom. It was short lived though as Diane decided to run for mayor and I only interviewed one lady before deciding to become a stay at home mom. Diane would have Chrissy dressed in clean dresses, my home tidy, dinner started so I was very spoiled by her kindness. I am sad to hear your family has lost this lovely lady.
