William Claiborne  Lufsey Jr.
William “Poncho” Lufsey, Jr., 66, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond. Born in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late William C. Lufsey, Sr. and Clarice Christine Belcher Lufsey; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Christine Rebecca Lufsey. Mr. Lufsey was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He had worked for Red Ford and Son and later worked as a carpenter. Poncho loved to fish and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He is survived by his devoted long-time companion, Beth Ann White; a brother and sister-in-law, Terry O. Lufsey, Sr. and, Sandra Beemer Lufsey; a niece, Kimberly L. Bunch and husband, David; one nephew, Terry O. Lufsey, Jr. and wife, Susan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews; a great great-niece and nephew; and his faithful 4-legged friends, Mattie and Bandit. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. Jason Elmore and Christopher Feggins, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060 in memory of Mr. Lufsey.
