Obituary for Carolyn Sue Dawson (Sherrell)
Carolyn Sue Dawson, age 76 of Yukon, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at her home. She was born October 21, 1940 in Tishomingo, OK and grew up in Oklahoma City. She married her husband Hosey Dawson April 1, 1959. They happily raised 4 children together. She graduated from OSU-OKC in 1979 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing Science. She proudly worked as an RN until her retirement in 1995. A strong Christian woman, she was a former member of First Baptist Church of Yukon and was a current member of Yukon Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Robert Sherrell, and her son Joe Dawon. She is survived by her husband Hosey, son David Dawson of Yukon, son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Paula Dawson of Nashville, TN and daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Chris Emigh of Yukon. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, all of whom she cherished. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 12th, at 1:00 o’clock at Smith & Turner Chapel. Condolences may be left at www.smith-turnermortuary.com.
