I love Tio Amado like a Dad. My Daddy (Martin "Marty" Moreno) loved Tio Amado like a Dad; La Blanca was our first home and our first family visit and our last before heading back to Chicago. Living in the city it was cool to see the ranch, the horses, the chickens and the cows, with the family running to the gate to greet us.
Decades later I continued the tradition and a new one began he would take me to visit my Daddy. We'd sit on the bench under the sunset. Sometimes in silence - others he’d share family stories. Life had gotten difficult, I couldn't stand on my own two feet and Tio was there to hold me up, keep me strong and enforce family roots. He gave us a gift of a lifetime, a peaceful place under that orange tree. Tio you are forever in my heart but soon I will come home. I will sit on that bench, under a blue sky, next to that orange tree and reminisce over our memories until sunset.
