Obituary for Nelida Wong
Nelida (Nena) Wong, 95, of Nashua, died peacefully at Kindred Healthcare (Greenbriar) in Nashua on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
She was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba on October 31, 1921, a daughter of the late Julian Wong and Silveria Martinez.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecilio Pon, as well as one sister and four brothers.
She was educated in Cuba and had worked as a pharmacist.
She is remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
A proud naturalized citizen, she was very grateful to this nation for the opportunities it offered to herself, her daughter and grandkids.
She is survived by her daughter Marisela Pon of Nashua; her grandchildren, Carlos Gonzalez and Daniela Gonzalez, both of Nashua; her nieces, Gloria Wong and Martha Rodriguez and her husband Horacio; her nephew, Frank Wong; and her grandnephew, George Marrero.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held at the DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St., Nashua on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 E. Dunstable Rd., Nashua. Interment prayers and burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital (https://www.stjude.org).
