Condolence From: Valerie Desouza
Condolence: Condolences to Cheryl family and friends. Cheryl was my PSW teacher back in 2012 lets just say through my nursing and PSW career she was one of my favourite teachers. Cheryl went above and beyond to make sure her students were comfortable and taken care of. She had a smile and laugh that can light up the room, she supported and had faith that I will be really successful in the health profession. Although she was my teacher she always had the loving motherly quality about her. Cheryl I'll always be greatful for all you have taught, you be at gone but you will never be forgotten. Condolence: Cheryl: always the consummate professional, an ambassador for good...She inspired me on so many levels (in my work, in being human). Her generosity knew no bounds, whether it be inviting me in for a cup of tea while on a walk, to sharing her desk with me on lunch at the DCDSB. Knowledgeable, spirited, passionate: the world needs more Cheryl, and Heaven just got a whole lot better! Much love and prayers to her family.

Condolence: Joe and I are so saddened by Cheryl's passing. Through the short time we knew her, we couldn't help falling in love with her. She showed us courage, humor and a love for life. We are blessed to have shared our lives with her if only for a brief time.

Condolence: Today as I woke up I found out the sad news of Cheryl's passing. I was a student of hers in 2012 through the PSW program. She was an amazing teacher and woman. She took the time to explain everything. Whether it took our class 10 tries or 1 try she would never stop until we all got it. She was very kind hearted and just a pleasure to be around. She had the heart of gold. I know that she has been struggling for quite some time. Now she is at peace. Cheryl will always be remembered for her saying "get er' done"!! RIP to a beautiful woman. My condolences to all of her family through this difficult time.

Condolence: I'm shocked and sadden by this news. I was a student of Cheryl's in 2010. She was the most amazing teacher, she was one of those teachers that fully explained everything and if you didn't understand she explained it to you until you did. She was the cheerleader - she pushed us all through. She always told us, if you want it, you will get it. Cheryl was a very knowledgable lady, she knew her stuff and she did an amazing job teaching it to all of her students. She loved her Tim Hortons - we all shared in one too many coffees in that class. She always had a smile on her face, she made walking into the classroom a breeze. I remember coming into talking to her next class after mine! It was pretty amazing to pass on all my knowledge to the students she was about to teach. Cheryl changed my life in many ways. You will be forever missed. Thank you for the life lessons Cheryl. RIP

Condolence From: Cindy Rimmer PSW 2015
Condolence: Sad but not surprised to hear of Cheryl's passing, she fought the good fight. Cheryl was strong, courageous, determined and an inspiration to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. I met Cheryl in 2015 as one of her PSW students and she has changed my life forever. I'm just sorry I didn't meet her sooner. Cheryl never let her illness interfere with what she loved to do. Which was preparing her students with brutal honesty, to go out there and provide compassion and dignity to those who cannot care for or need help caring for themselves. Cheryl was an incredible story teller and shared her whole life story with her students. She had an amazing and exciting full life. Our lives will be missing the grace and elegance of one of the bravest ladies I have ever met. I will never forget the impact you had on my life and I thank you . My sincerest condolences go out to her family and close friends at this difficult time. May you rest in peace Miss Cheryl ❤️
