Schmitz, Larry William age 46, of Hopkins, formerly of Excelsior, passed away April 8, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents Sylvester and Pauline Schmitz. He is survived by his sisters, Linda (Richard) Pass, Lois (Evan) Swensen, Lori Reisner, and brother Lee Schmitz: nephew and nieces, Luke, Rebekkah, Bethany, and Naomi Reisner; aunt and uncles, Rose (Don) Leisen, Florian (Judy) Schindler, Allen (Phyllis) Schmitz, and many other loving relatives and friends. Larry had a kind and loving heart. He was always willing to serve others and lend a helping hand. He was a US Navy veteran and a warehouseman for SuperValu. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, and a variety of sports. He attended Catholic school in Excelsior and graduated from Minnetonka High School. He will be remembered for his work ethic, integrity, and stalwartness. We will miss him. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Church, 680 Mill St., Excelsior with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
