Clara Mae Rice, 86, of Independence, passed away Apr 16, 2017. A visitation will be held Thurs. Apr. 20th from 6-8:00pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Graveside will be Fri, Apr. 21st at 10:00am at Mound Grove Cemetery, 1818 N River Blvd, Independence, MO 64050.
Clara was born Nov. 18, 1930 to John and Elizabeth (Stevenson) Sackman. A life-long Independence resident, she graduated from William Chrisman High School and worked as a florist for Cairne’s Flowers for 32 years. Clara is preceded in death by her parents and her 7 siblings. She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry; her son, John and his wife, Mary D. and her son, Henry III; grandchildren, John, Stacey, Laura Beth, Karen, Audrey, Rachel, Christina and Michael; as well as, several great-grandchildren.
