The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hanna Nevins can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Dear Nevins Family,

The strength of a family is “rooted” in the role each members plays. Hanna Nevins, was the “bedrock” of the Nevins Family. My childhood home was in Calhoun Farms, Wisconsin. As memberr of St. Lukes Catholic Church, I recall seeing the Nevins family at church and church functions. Mrs. Nevins showed me and others, what an important role a Mother and Wife plays in a family.

May the Nevins Family rejoice in the reflections and memories of Hanna Nevins.

Respectfully,

Dr. Charles W. Birch, Morris, Illinois

Condolence: My prayers go out to the Nevins family. Take comfort and joy in all that Hanna Nevins brought to her family and many others.

Mr. Nevins, I especially offer my thoughts to you. In 1962 you asked me to help coach the St. Luke’s basketball team. Upon your learning my need for a job, as I pursued a career as a teacher/coach, you hired me to work at Wi Centrifugal. With that boost, I was able to continue my education. My journey as a teacher, graduating with a B.S. and M.S. in Education from U of WI -La Crosse and an Ed.D. (1976) from Northern Illinois University, resulted in a fifty one year (now subbing) teaching time. Married now, 52 years, with two children, eight Grands and three Great grands and living in Morris , Illinois I look at the Nevins family with the highest regard.

Respectfully,

Charles W. Birch
