74, of Halifax formerly of Blandford passed away on Tuesday April 18, 2017 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Blandford he was the son of the late Roy and Ardeliah (Publicover) Gates. Survived by his wife Mary; children, Devin, Shauna (Darrell) Murphy and Hollie (Scott) Mazerall; step-children, Kevin (Laurie) Dillman and Denise (Ken), Benson; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Emma, Allie, Jade, Amber, Jake and Jodi; several great grandchildren; sisters, Frances (Jack) Johnson; Roselyn Cleveland; Geraldine Norwood; Judy (Robert Schakohl); Evangeline Pickrem; best friend, Lloyd Publicover. Predeceased by his first wife Margaret; sisters, Ena and Isabel. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday April 22, 2017 in St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blandford. Rev.
