Aunt Roma wasn't great - she was Grand! A Grand Matron, sister, wife, mother,grand/great-grandmother, aunt, friend to all - but to me, personally, she was my grand aunt. Full of stories, kindness, grand sense of humor, a memorable laugh, love of her family and the roots of her childhood. She could whip up a great cake, pie, and a terrific spaghetti sauce. And, she was a devout Red Skins fan (especially when they won - when they didn't she could get a bit mad at them). She was the real DEAL!
She was so very proud of her daughters - Karen and Cheryl - and they, in turn, were very proud of her. They were devoted to her from day one and their devotion always prevailed; loyal to the end. Aunt Roma has left a wonderful legacy for all who knew her.
She faithfully kept in touch with her family - if you needed an address or phone number, you just called her. She was blessed with a large supply of the Puffenbarger gene pool! She loved the annual reunions - she took over for Aunt Lucy in making and taking the Bob Andy pies to the reunion. You had to get there first thing; otherwise, the pie was gone in a flash! She loved her birthday celebrations. Guess it was fitting that she passed away right after turning 99 - she was looking forward to this one. She will miss her party, but she is at peace. She was a beloved part of the original Puffenbarger clan and will be truly missed; but, she has left a very large footprint to remind us of her life and love - many memories that are, and will always be, cherished by all who knew her. She will be missed, but NEVER forgotten. She was the Best, the very Best! Aunt Roma, you "done good."
Aunt Roma, You were a great lady. You were the matriarch of the family. You will truly be missed. You were a great Aunt and we were so lucky to have you in our lives for so many years. Thank you for your kindness and selfess nature. You were everyones cheerleader. Words are inadequate as we are never ready to say good bye. I love you.
