BOUDREAU, Stanley Leonard – 100, Arichat, formerly of Boudreauville
It is with great sadness that we the family have to announce the passing of Stanley that occurred April 20, 2017 at his residence in St. Anne Center in Arichat. Born in Boudreauville he was the son of Fred and Delphine (DeCoste) Boudreau. . He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Crossan, Scotland; sons, Ralph, (Deltina), Arichat, Carl,(Lana), Janvrin’s Harbour, Wayne, (Sherma), Martinique; grandchildren, Shawn, Hali, Ellie, Daniel, Adele, Devin, Eric, Candace; great-grandchildren, Terrence, Cassey, Noelle, Pacey, Laureli, Joel, Ashton, Ainslee, Brody, Élias. Stanley was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife the former Mary Alice (Martell) Boudreau; special friend, Dorothy Sampson; sisters, Margaret LeBlanc, Anna Landry; brothers, Joe, Adelaire, Freddie, James, Francis, Raymond. He joined the army in 1941, he was discharged in 1946. His regiment was the 7th anti tank regiment. He received a 1939-1945 star; Italy star, France & Germany star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was the former post master for Boudreauville for many years. He worked at Booth Fisheries. He retired at the age of 65 from the Richmond Fisheries. In his retirement years, he loved planting trees and flowers, watching and catching birds, spending time in the boat with Carl and family. When he moved to St Anne’s Nursing Centre in his final years, he loved to be outside to feed the birds and meet and greet the visitors. Visitation will be held in the C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Sunday, April 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Petit de Grat on Monday morning at 11 with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Burial to take place at a later date in Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat. Reception will follow the Mass at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150, Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Anne’s Centre. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
