Obituary for Hosey Virgle Dawson Jr.
Hosey Virgle Dawson, Junior, age 84 of Yukon, passed away Wednesday May 3, 2017 at his home. He was born January 25, 1933 in Cordell, OK and grew up in Washita County. He spent many days in his youth working the family farm milking cows and picking cotton. He joined the Navy towards the end of the Korean War. After leaving the service, he married his wife Carolyn Sue Sherrell on April 1, 1959. They happily raised 4 children together. He graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1960 with an Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. He worked as a school teacher, a television repairman, an employee of the FAA, and General Electric. Eventually he went to work for Western Electric, which became AT&T, and retired as a Senior Test Development Engineer in 1995. A man of faith, he was a former member of First Baptist Church of Yukon and was a current member of Yukon Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Dawson, his mother and father, a brother, two sisters, and his son Joe Dawson. He is survived by his son David Dawson of Yukon, son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Paula Dawson of Nashville, TN, and daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Chris Emigh of Yukon. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, all of whom he cherished.
