Obituary for Carmela L. Mangano

Carmela T. Mangano, 96, passed away Sunday, May 07, at St. Peter University Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Mrs. Mangano emigrated from Italy in 1928 and settled in Manhattan. She was raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in New Brunswick for many years before moving to the Rossmoor community in Monroe Twp in 1989.

Carmela was an administrative assistant for Medical Clinical Laboratories in New Brunswick, where her husband was the proprietor and director for 40 years. She loved to Crochet and was an avid reader.

Mrs. Mangano was predeceased by her parents, Carmelo and Antonina Iovine; her loving husband, Joseph Mangano; her brother, Felice Iovine; her sisters, Rafaela, Loretta and Angela.

She is survived by her nephews, Carmine Iovine and Paul Mangano; her nieces, Antoinette Buthorn and Laura Mangano; and her great and grandnieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ on Tuesday, May 9th from 2-5 P.M.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 10th at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Kendall Park. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in East Brunswick.
