Obituary for
Isabel Ethel Harris
The caring, curious, dry-witted, courageous soul of Isabel Harris peacefully left her body after 87 years on this earth. Her long life was both rich and routine, had its challenges and rewards, and was always lived her way. She enjoyed music from all decades, was a fan of the Edmonton Eskimos and absolutely loved to travel around Canada, especially in her home province of Alberta. She loved reading and lined her bookshelves with a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction and reference books. Isabel read a lot, but for her there was never any better story than an amusing tale told by one of her family members, in a laughter-filled living room on any occasion they were together.
Isabel will be missed and loved always by her ever-grateful children, Linda, Geraldine, Diane (Julio), Patricia (Doug), Richard, Glenda, Michael, Jeffrey (Pam), Laura and Terrell (Geoff); brother, Bill (Connie), and by those who kept that sparkle of joy in her bright blue eyes, her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Isabel’s Life will take place Thursday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Edmonton Humane Society.
