Obituary for Sheneice Sumpter
Sheniece Etoya Nelson Sumpter (PYT) was born in Mobile on May 24, 1989 and departed this life for her eternal home on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Levell Sumpter Whitlock; grandfathers, Samuel Meggs and Eugene Nelson, Sr.; aunts, Shelia (John) Kirksey and Lolita Nelson; uncle, Eugene Nelson, Jr.
Sheniece found Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Murphy High School and was employed with Pilot as an Insurance Adjuster. Sheniece had a passion for caring for her son, shopping, doing hair, and putting her fingers in her mouth.
Sheniece is survived by her son, Katonio King, Jr. (KJ); grandmother, Lucy Mae Meggs; father, Gregory Nelson; sisters, Tracy Nelson, Gail Nelson, Myosha (Brandon) Nelson, and Miracle Meggs; brother, Gregory (Alana) Nelson; aunts, Constance (Oliver) Thompson, Kem (Timothy) Meggs,Bernadette Moore, Cheryl Nelson, Jennifer Winbush, and Angelia Patterson; uncle, James (Deloris) Sumpter; nieces, Jakaiya Wiley, Nyla Ingram, Shaniya Cook, Zyriah Covington, Alyssia Nelson, and McKenzie Nelson; a devoted aunt/godmother, Constance Thompson (Nanny); devoted cousin, Tiffany Sumpter; godsister, Alexis Baker; godfather, Leroy Harris; goddaughter, Kylei Sanders; devoted friends, Tyler Reese, Toni Pendleton, Kalada Dubose, Victoria Duncan, Myosha Martin and Beverly Crenshaw.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10am until the 12pm funeral hour at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 860 Warren Street, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
