Obituary for Mindi Michelle (Brinkley) Werner

Mindi Michelle (Brinkley) Werner
Mindi Michelle (Brinkley) Werner of Springfield, Missouri, passed early in the morning of May 16, 2017, in her home. She was 47 years old.

The oldest of two children, Mindi was born on April 19, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas, to Wesley and Donna Brinkley. After graduating from Liberal Senior High School in 1988, she attended Kansas State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 1992. During her time at K-State, she was actively involved on campus and was a member of the Classy Cats dance team.

Mindi found her true calling in being a devoted stay at home mother to Zachary, Zane and Zahn. To say that her boys were the pride and joy of her everyday life is an understatement, as she counted them as her greatest accomplishments. From hockey mom to Cub Scouts leader, she was in every essence the ultimate mom, always placing her children and family first. She was also a supportive and incredibly active aunt to her niece and nephews, always being there for the milestones in their life.

Mindi lived her life fully and enjoyed many hobbies. Her favorite being her love of music. If an 80’s song came on the radio, she knew all the lyrics and had the dance move to match it, there was never a dull moment if music was on. She was a loving, compassionate and kind-hearted daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend to so many.

Mindi is survived by her children: Zachary, Zane and Zahn Werner of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by her parents, Wesley and Donna (Boyd) Brinkley, and her only sister, Traci Mettlen, and husband, John, and their three children, Jacob, Joel and Jensen, all of Liberal, Kansas. Maternal grandparents, Granville and Muriel Boyd, of Spearman, Texas. Mindi was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother; Mary Boyd and paternal grandparents, John and Imogene Brinkley.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, May 18, 2017, from 7 to 9 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 19th, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2852 S. Dayton Ave. Springfield, Missouri 65807. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
