Obituary for Walter W. Tomkiel, Sr.

Walter W. Tomkiel Sr. of Warminster, Pa., passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Abington Jefferson Health. He was 79 years old.

Born in Phila., he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Tomkiel. He was the beloved husband of June E. (nee Ritchie) Tomkiel and loving father of Walter (Nancy) Tomkiel II, Denise (Scott) Huber and the late Stacy Ann Tomkiel. He was the brother of Mary Jane Stenderowicz and Elaine Marks and the grandfather of Warren, Carly, Dante Lucia and the late Courtney Ann and Walter Anthony. He was a greatly loved husband, father and grandfather.

Walt attended St. Ladislaus Elementary School and Dobbins Tech School in Phila. He was the former owner of Tranztech Transmission in Hatboro.

Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday Evening, May 17, 2017 after 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Thurs. morning after 10:00 AM until time of his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in The Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Rd., Warminster. Interment Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Susan G. Komen, Breast Cancer Foundation, 125 So. 9th St., Suite 202, Phila., Pa. 19107 in Walt’s memory.
