Gregory Neil Nolan, 51, of Grayson, KY passed away at his residence on May 15, 2017.

Greg, was born May 6, 1966 in Ashland, KY, the son of Joy Calhoun Nolan of Grayson and the late Harold E. Nolan. He was the grandson of the late Esmond and Ella Nolan of Grayson, KY and the late Lawrence and Maude Calhoun of Hitchens, KY.

Greg was a 1984 graduate of East Carter High School where he was active in the football and baseball programs, and as such, a member of the 1984 East Carter baseball team that went on to capture the Kentucky Baseball State Championship that same year. After high school, Greg attended Western Kentucky University, where he was a member of the WKU Hilltopper's football team during his four years at Western. After graduating from WKU in 1988 with a degree in Park Administration and Recreation, Greg worked at Kentucky Lake State Park in the park and recreation department.

After leaving Kentucky Lake, opportunity lead Greg to Lexington ,KY and Winston Salem, NC., and eventually returning home to Grayson to be closer to family.

Greg is survived by his mother, Joy Calhoun Nolan of Grayson, KY; his brother ,Todd E. Nolan of Savannah GA; his aunt, Inez Nolen of Olive Hill, KY and many cousins

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Donald Damron, minister. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Floral remembrances are appreciated, however, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215, Attention: Lexington Kentucky Chapter, so as to help fight diabetes.
