The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Booke can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: What a shock. What a great shipmate. Went on liberty many times with him in Norfolk when we were on the big Al. We took a memorable trip to London from Gaeta when we were forward deployed as 6th Fleet flag, in the fall of '77, when the World Series was going on. I knew he had been having health issues for years, but this was still a shock. Condolences to his wife and family.

Condolence: Am saddened to hear of Rick's passing. He was a shipmate, co-worker, and friend. We served together on the Albany, in Gaeta from 76-78. I pulled him back into the radar room by his belt, when he took what is the finest picture ever of a Talos missile launch. Yes, we were a little too close to the launcher, but that is what Rick wanted to do. That's how I will always remember him.

Condolence: Very sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I have many great memories of good times with Rick in Gaeta when we served together on Albany 76-79. I also know Rick was instrumental in saving and preserving the brass CG-10 class model for the Albany display in New York. Sail on shipmate!
