It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister Eleanor that occurred suddenly on June 4, 2017 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on June 4, 2017. Born December 29, 1939 in Louisdale, she was the daughter of Mary Irene (Samson) Marchand, Arichat and the late Alphonse Marchand. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Edwin Landry, Louisdale; daughters, Dana Bourinot, (Darren), Port Hawkesbury, Denise Boudreau, (Chet), Halifax; son, Kenny, Louisdale; brothers, Jimmy (Brenda), Lorne, Val (Janasta); sister, Claire Jeffrey (David), all of Louisdale; grandchildren, Cole, Keegan, Hayden, Jenna, Jayden and Maggie. Besides her father, Eleanor was predeceased by her brother Vernon. Eleanor was a very classy lady. She took pride in her children, grandchildren, home & appearance, loving unconditionally. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her can attest to her fun-loving spirit and zeal for life. She will be sadly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to have known her
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisdale on Saturday morning June 10, 2017 at 11am, with Rev. Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial to take place in St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Louisdale. Reception will be held following committal in St. Louis Parish Hall in Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to St. Louis Parish Renovation, Strait Richmond Hospital Foundation Society or to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
