Sue Golightly Rister, 76, of Stephenville, died Sunday, June 18, 2017, in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 21st at Cowboy Church of Erath County with Brother Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Sue was born on August 4, 1940 in Hico, to the late T. W. ‘ Woody’ and Delma Littleton Golightly. She married Billy Don Rister, on February 14, 1985 in Las Vegas. Sue was raised in Stephenville, and graduated from Stephenville High School in 1958. She worked many years as a secretary at the Huckabay ISD. Sue loved art, and was very active at Cowboy Church of Erath County, especially in the Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study class. Sue lived in Erath County most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughter, Tammie Sue and husband Joe Shipman of Huckabay; son, Joey and wife Theresa Craddock of Colleyville; step-daughters, Leslie and husband Richard Dailey of Flower Mound, Theresa and husband Ronnie Quarles of Stephenville, and Dionne Rister of Oklahoma; brothers, Randy Golightly of Iredell and Paul Golightly of Stephenville; sisters, Wanda Kropp of Georgetown and Sharon Pack of Granbury; sixteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
