Obituary for Stephen Lee Harris
Stephen Lee Harris, 70 of Springfield, Mo, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital. He was born June 2, 1947 in Independence, Mo.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
Steve is survived by his wife, Kathy M. Harris, daughter Kristen M. Ward (John) and son, Bryan S. Harris (Samantha), 3 grandsons and 4 grandaughters, one sister, Karen Sparr.
Steve was a lifelong student of God’s Word, art and photography. He and Kathy pastored 5 years in Iowa and shared 37 years of missionary ministry in Tanzania, South Africa, Costa Rica and LAC/U.S. with the Assembly of God Worldwide Missions. After retirement, he was a multi-lingual guide at the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum, Bass Pro Shop.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 East Seminole, Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the funeral home.
