Condolence: The Strand family,
I'm so sad to read of Larry's death. At the same time I celebrate his "going home".
I really appreciated him and will always remember and treasure his warm, engaging smile, his deep faith, and his sense of humour. He was so helpful and encouraging to me personally and, when I came to Lake Park Baptist with my Nephews Marty and Curtis and their band, last fall, to do the fund raiser for Bethania Lutheran he did the same. He was "Larry". He was genuine, funny and a true brother in Christ and I will miss him for the remainder of my time here, but, believers in Christ have never seen each other for the last time . Hallelujah!

Condolence: Betty, We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Erica and myself send our deepest sympathies to you and the entire Lake Park family. But amidst this difficult time we picture Larry smiling and being in the presence of Jesus, which brings much joy. On our drive to work today we heard Chris Tomlin's song "Home" and instantly Larry came to mind. The lyrics are as follows....

I'm goin' home
Where the streets are golden
Every chain is broken
Oh I wanna go
Oh I wanna go
Home
Where every fear is gone
I'm in your open arms
Where I belong
Home

When I think of Larry, the image that comes to mind is of him smiling and laughing and exuding a gentle spirit....He was such an integral part of my integration with the music ministry at the church. I always look upon my time with Larry kindly and with fondness. Larry taught me so much during my time serving, laughing, playing, and even praying together. I think we both understood many of the same things about music and the structure of it and it was almost as if we knew what each other was thinking. I will miss him dearly, but I know that we will meet one day and that gives me hope.

Betty, you had the privilege spending your life with Larry. The two of you touched many lives; more than you know. You are surrounded by a family who loves you and will continually support you as you go through this time. You are blessed to be part of such a great church family.

with love...
Derek, Erica, Emerson, Alera.
