On behalf of our family, I would like to thank all of you for coming here today to celebrate the wonderful life of Wendy.
Wendy was born 29 January 1966 in upstate New York to Dennis and Carol Hetherington. She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Jeffery; daughter, Jacquelyne; parents, Dennis and Carol; brother, Dennis Jr.; Sisters, Tammy and Amber and hosts of family and friends.
Even as a child, Wendy was always ambitious, excelling in everything she did. She was an honor-roll student, athletic and loved cheerleading. Had two beautiful children Jeffery and jacquelyne. She had an excellent career and was always moving forward.
June of 1988, I met Wendy in Aniston, a small town in Alabama while attending school. As a matter of fact, I met her whole family at the exact second I decided to introduce myself and her dad was not happy! Her beauty, grace and smile captured all of me. She lived in Minnesota and I in California, the distance did not stand a chance and in May of 2000 we married.
Her love for life was amazing, she was always willing to go or try anything as long as you gave her two hours to get ready! She always looked amazing and in every case was way over dressed for running simple errands or attending the most hoity toity events. She had champagne tastes, buying only the best clothes, purses, shoes, decorations for the house, cars and beer – well maybe not the beer, she loved Bud Light but everything else she always said “you get what you pay for!”
She defined high standard, always applying exceptional planning and military like precise execution in everything she did. Our house was immaculate, she planned daily cleaning lists for the kids and I while she enjoyed watching Judge Judy. The best investment I ever did was get a house cleaning service, finally my weekends could be used for something else she wanted!
She loved to camp, not worrying about the loss of her beloved creature comforts at home. She did not mind at all “roughing it” but would get frustrated when I could not get the satellite TV to work in the RV!
She was an animal lover, especially cats and she has four; Sawyer, Scout, Tigers and Cali. The kids would tell her that she replaced them with cats! Everyone in the family knew they fell a distance second to her cats, the problem was the cats even knew it as well.
Wendy was and always will be an exceptional woman, loving mother, wife and best friend. She was the strongest person I have ever known and I miss her so much. Wendy was tough, she never shied away from adversity and always kept her faith even on the most painful days. She was my true inspiration in life, my foundation and my best friend. As I may be lost without her, one day I will find my way with her.
