Obituary for Willie Sneed Tyus
Willie Sneed Tyus, 81, of Mexia passed away at his residence on July 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Dubois officiating. Interment will be at Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Willie was born September 3, 1935 in Smith County to Lewis Benjamin & Fannie Mae Fail Tyus. He was retired from Bell Helicopter. Willie enjoyed life and his family and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Perry Naomi Frank Tyus; brothers, Rufus Tyus, Howard Tyus and J.W. Tyus; sisters, Dorothy Killingsworth Suttle and Fannie Mae Reel. Willie is survived by nephews, Johnny Killingsworth and Jay Reel; nieces, Joy Ethridge, Wanda Jean Campbell, Janice Rogers, Nancy Beleckis, Carolyn Clark and Kathy Reel Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Dolly Tyus as well as extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Campbell, Johnny Killingsworth, Darrell Tweedle, Terry Laymance, Howard Tweedle, Jr. and Fred Tweedle.
