Service for Wanda Chasteen McGowan, 92, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Wanda Chasteen McGowan passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 in Cleburne. She was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Cleburne to George Washington and Vivian Fitzgerald Chasteen. Wanda married B.J. McGowan on Jan. 9, 1943 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2003, after 60 years of marriage.
Mrs. McGowan was a homemaker and a loving aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and a dear friend to many. She was a member of Granbury St. Church of Christ.
Survivors include her beloved nieces, Sue Vaughan and husband Paul of Cleburne, Jan Johnson and husband Michael of Burleson and Brenda Grizzle and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, OK; nephews, Jackie McGowan of Cleburne and Keith Shaw and wife Donna of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law, Jo Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK; cousins, Joan Smith and Charlita Bursey and her husband, all of Cleburne; and close friends, Shirley Hestilow and Erlene Doty. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Chasteen on Jan. 16, 1960 and father, George Chasteen on Jan. 26, 1975.
