Shawn E. Booker was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 15, 1970 to Charles E. Mathis and Constance L. Booker.
Shawn attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from English High School in 1989. Shawn had a great love for football; he was very proud of his game. He also ran track. Shawn married his high school sweetheart Sharon Skeens and from this union four children were born. Shawn work for many years in security. His last employment tenure was with Caroline Medical Center until he could no longer work due to health concerns.
Shawn was taught at an early age the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. This blessing took place under the leadership of Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. & Overseer Mary (Booker) Lee, of EBON Temple, Inc. in Orlando, FL. It was in this ministry when he heard and accepted the call in ministry. Shawn had a love for the gospel and shared it in every opportunity the was presented to his. Shawn loved the Word of God and would study often. During Shawn’s study time he was learning to speak and write Hebrew and had taken on the name of YAHCHONAN ESHEL.
Shawn heard the call of his Master on July 8, 2017. He leaves to cherish hi memories: (4) children: Shawn II, Shaquan, Shamaun, and Shamiya; (4) grandchildren: Ashawn, Josiah, Jaleah, Shamaun Jr., Mother: Constance Booker of FL; Father Charles Mathis of MA; (2) Brothers: Maurice Booker of FL, Antoine Davis of MA; Grandparents: Edlin & Genny Silcott of MA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
There will be a Viewing on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00am followed by Funeral Service at 10:00 O’clock at Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church, 471 Warren Street, Dorchester, MA 02121
Interment: Oak Lawn Cemetery, Roslindale, MA.
